We're Tommy, Riley, Michelle, and Chad, and we're Literally Wizards. Literally Wizards became a thing when Tommy Day came up with the idea for Buy the Rights in 2015.

First Buy The Rights Playtest

Tommy and Riley wrote about 20 cards for each deck and playtested the game with Michelle and Chad, and a few months later Buy the Rights was on Kickstarter. Now the team is working on new expansions for Buy the Rights as well as new tabletop games. You can find Literally Wizards at these events.

Company Highlights

  • In September of 2015, Buy the Rights was featured in the Boston Festival of Indie Games.
  • In December of 2015, an early version of the game was Kickstarted with almost 500 backers.
  • After an almost complete re-write of the game's 400 cards, a rebranding by world-class illustrator Justin Gammon, and a few delays, the game was finally published in January of 2017.
  • In early 2018 Buy the Rights nearly sells out of the first printing, and self-funds a second print run
